Youth In Action Final Learning Event Pre

2018 marks the end of the six-year YiA program. We invited guests to join us in celebrating the achievements of YiA’s young women and men, while discussing how youth livelihoods programs are enhancing the socio-economic status of rural youth across Africa.

The program achieved results by using an integrated approach built on three pillars: Youth Learn, Youth Act, and Youth Connect.  The event used the same integrated approach to achieve the following objectives:

Learn lessons and discuss challenges from YiA’s experiences in working at scale with out-of-school girls and boys as they relate to future program opportunities in rural Africa.

Act by sharing your experiences and providing your perspective on how the YiA’s program model can be leveraged to reach more young people living in rural areas, their communities and future generations.

Connect with the YiA team, other experts and practitioners to learn about innovative and promising practices for more investment in rural youth livelihood.

We celebrated YiA’s successes, shared program research and learning and had a platform for dialogue with the broader development community on socio-economic development for young people in rural Africa. The event was also a place for the youth livelihoods community to advocate for increasing investments in the immediate enabling environment as a key driver of success for young people’s integration into the workforce in rural areas.
