I have a year of experience in civic leadership. Currently, I am the Co-founder and active Vice President of a youth-led startup organization called Enhancing Youth Empowerment for Creative Innovations, EYECI which focuses on youth engagement in community service by organizing projects which youths participate in. As the leader of operations in Yaounde, I championed the first EYECI community outreach program in this municipality which consisted of visiting secondary schools and telling students about community service, its benefits to the participants and the community as a whole. After orientating over five hundred students from six schools in Yaounde, I then decided to organize a conference under the theme “Not Mere “Youths”; Active Citizens”; aimed at revolutionizing youths’ mentality towards community service. I currently volunteer at NexGen Technology Center where I train children on technology and artificial intelligence on how they could be use to solve basic community problems like healthcare, energy and waste management. I am a high school graduate with distinction and is presently an undergraduate engineering student. I am Committed to making the voice of youths heard by involving them in community service projects as I discovered that most youths in my community consider themselves as subjects and mere citizens, forgetting that they are tomorrow’s leaders. Upon completion of the program, I plan to use the rich network of collaborators I will get from this cohort as a leverage for creating more impact in the community through youth engagement in community service projects.
