About the Event
Join USAID's YouthPower2: Learning and Evaluation (YP2LE) activity for a Learning Network Event on March 28 to hear major findings from a youth-led assessment about the impact of the Russian Invasion on Ukraine’s secondary education system.
Since February 2022, teachers and students in Ukraine have attempted to find some sense of normalcy, keeping their lives on track, but this is a near impossible challenge when you are living in a country at war. The USAID Ukraine National Identity through Youth (UNITY) Activity conducted a youth-led impact assessment to understand the effects of the Russian invasion on Ukraine’s secondary education system. Speakers will discuss the barriers and facilitators of learning during the conflict, strategies for meaningful youth engagement, and how this youth-led research was conducted in a conflict setting. The event will be directed towards those:
- working to support Ukraine’s humanitarian development, especially secondary education;
- creating or implementing meaningful youth engagement strategies in education programs during a crisis or conflict situation; or
- Designing or conducting youth-led studies in challenging environments.
This webinar will also touch on findings related to USAID’s Education in Crisis and Conflict learning agenda, including:
- Equity: What education delivery modalities are the most effective at improving equitable access to education?
- Student Well-Being: Which education interventions are the most effective in improving student well-being?
- Evidence: What are innovative approaches to and methods for collecting reliable education data in complex changing environments?
- Institutional Capacity: How can USAID education programs contribute to building more resilient education institutions?
After presenting the findings, our speakers will answer audience questions regarding their work in Ukraine.
This event will include automatic English closed captioning.
