On July 15, 2019, UNESCO and the UNEVOC Network will join the global celebrations to mark World Youth Skills Day (WYSD) and raise awareness about the importance of youth skills development!
Young people are almost three times more likely to be unemployed than adults (UN)and continuously face the challenges of greater labour market inequalities. The aim of WYSD is to advocate for skills as an important factor to improve young people’s transitions to decent work, and to highlight the crucial role of skilled youth in addressing today’s most challenging global issues.
Celebrating the World Youth Skills Day 2019, the event will bring together the voices of youth, Member States, the UN system, private sector, civil society, academia and organizations to discuss “learning to learn” for life and work in the age of technological innovation, social and demographic transformation and climate change threats.
