We use technology, agency of youth, and locals knowledge. Participatory youth researchers (PYRs) understand the lives of participants. Personal perspective guides research, as coaches inform teams on triggering questions for the children. PYR’s contribution include replacing paper registers with fun ‘selfies’ for capturing attendance, reducing cultural barriers, and eliminating intimidation by researchers.
