Summary

Internships place young people in an organization for a specific period of time - typically less than one year - to gain practical professional experience in a chosen field or role. Apprenticeships can be similar to internships, but typically have a more formal on-the-job training component, may include exams, certifications, or licensing, and are more common in trades or regulated occupations.
