A group of young people being taught on a hilltop
A group of young people and a facilitator are on a mountaintop to participate in a Listener Club activity. Emerging from decades of government instability, EAI works with Nepali youth to raise their awareness and empower them to become active, vocal participants in shaping the future of their nation. These young people take this opportunity to discuss topics that are important to them and help them find ways to achieve their goals.

This Listener Club was part of the USAID-funded Sajhedari Bikaas project, whose goal was to improve the ability of people to engage in local governance and advocate for their needs. as the lead media and outreach partner in the project, we mobilized our expertise to strengthen the capacity of national and local radio partners, while also engaging citizens around issues of local governance, conflict mitigation, youth, women, and development.

Over the course of the five-year program, almost 10,000 listening, discussion, and action group meetings like the one pictured here led to approximately 500 positive community and individual actions.
