This picture was taken when i was serving as a CorpsAfrica/Malawi volunteer in Wimbe Community in Kasungu District the central region of Malawi. The picture is showing a Hand washing facility locally known as "Mpondagiya". This Hand washing facility was made using locally available resources with Wimbe Primary School students as one way of promoting sanitation around the school premises. I conducted an interactive health education session and the student suggested that we should make a handwashing facility in order for the students to wash their hands after visiting the toilet and prevent diseases such as cholera.
