This photo was taken while me and my team had gone on a fact finding trip to eastern Uganda, we heard that teenage pregnancy was a serious problem there and had also gone to distribute sanitary towels. The girl appearing in the photo is the young sister of a 17 year old teenage mother, and she routinely has to go to school with the baby while her big sister works. I loved and choose this photo because it depicts a young girl with the love for education and knowledge but also is ready to look after her young niece even if it meant taking up a few hours to baby sit even at school.
