This guide was designed to help youth development professionals understand how to integrate social justice principles into positive youth development programs. Over the years, there have been national, state and local efforts towards creating more diverse and inclusive programs within 4-H. Youth development professionals could have a more intentional role in reaching diverse youth with culturally relevant programs. These programs can foster young people’s agency—the belief that they can make a difference—and provide resources to address social injustice within communities.
