Not the Cost: Stopping Violence Against Women in Politics
Women are advancing toward equality and claiming their right to participate in politics. In 'Stepping it Up' for gender equality we must ensure that women can be politically active without experiencing any form of discrimination, harassment or assault. Violence is NOT the cost of politics.

NDI launched the #Not The Cost Call to Action Plan on March 17, 2016, in New York City. U.S. Secretary of State and NDI Chairman Madeleine K. Albright and Madame Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, women's rights activist and wife of the Prime Minister of Canada, delivered keynote remarks.
On November 25, 2016 &mdash the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, which itself commemorates an act of political violence against women — NDI launched an Incident Report Form for reporting Violence Against Women in Politics. The form, which is available in Arabic, English, French and Spanish, allows people to report incidents of violence against politically active women safely and securely.
