What is a challenge?
It's a simple idea or a need of sea users, or a more mature project that needs a boost or special expertise.
Who can submit a challenge?
The owners of the challenge can be legal entities or individual people.
The challenge owner must:
- agree the rules of Ocean Hackathon®;
- be present during the weekend in the city he·she submitted his·her challenge, to work together with his·her team. A same owner can submit several challenge. However, a representative must be present for each selected challenge.
- register to Ocean Hackathon® if his·her challenge is selected;
What are the criteria?
To be taken into consideration, the challenges must:
- be linked with the oceans and seas, their sustainable development and/or their preservation;
- lead to new ideas and/or innovative solutions;
- be based on the use of data;
- require the development of a prototype during the event. The feasibility of the prototype must be considered.

How to submit a challenge?
- Click on the map opposite to access the page dedicated to the city in which you want to submit your challenge
- Fill in the form before June, 15th
- The adviser of each local edition proceeds with the selection of challenges.
