Sexual and Reproductive Health in Early and Later Adolescence
DHS Data on Youth Age 10-19
The Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) Program is one of the principal sources of international data on fertility, family planning, maternal and child health, nutrition, mortality, environmental health, HIV/AIDS, malaria, and provision of health services. One of the objectives of The DHS Program is to provide policymakers and program managers in low- and middle-income countries with easily accessible data on levels and trends for a wide range of health and demographic indicators. DHS Comparative Reports provide such information, usually for a large number of countries in each report. These reports are largely descriptive, without multivariate methods, but when possible they include confidence intervals and/or statistical tests. The topics in this series are selected by The DHS Program in consultation with the U.S. Agency for International Development. It is hoped that the DHS Comparative Reports will be useful to researchers, policymakers, and survey specialists,
those engaged in work in low- and middle-income countries.
