Teen Life in Africa presents various aspects of teen life in 15 African countries. The introductory chapter offers a broad perspective, drawing examples that are applicable to most countries on the African continent. the 15 chapters that follow focus on one country each. The book's scope covers all regiopns of Africa-- north, west, central, east, and south. The rationale for the coverage is to reflect the various cultural differences among African teens, as in the areas dominated by Islam in the north, by Christianity in the south, and by both religions in other countries. The chapters show the impact of modernization on African teenagers, as well as the survival of traditional practices among them.
