The Youth and United Nations Global Alliance (YUNGA) is a partnership between United Nations agencies, civil society organizations and other entities which develops initiatives, resources and opportunities for children and young people to learn, get involved and make a difference. YUNGA acts as a gateway to allow children and youth to participate in the activities and initiatives of the United Nations. The purpose of theUnited Nations Challenge Badges is to raise awareness, educate and, most of all, motivate young people to change their behaviour and be active agents of change in their local communities. Challenge badges are appropriate for use with school classes and youth groups, and are endorsed by WAGGGS and WOSM. They include a wide range of activities and ideas that can easily be adapted by teachers or leaders. The booklets are intended as a guide for teachers and youth leaders. These individuals are responsible for the development of programmes and activities that are suitable for their group and should provide the required supervision to ensure all participants are safe and sound
