The YouthLead Programme is a leading platform for young changemakers and community leaders to elevate their work in mobilizing the youth of their communities. It can be recognized as an empowerment platform for youth empowerment advocates. Hence as an Advocate for Youth Empowerment the predominant reason why I wish to join the YouthLead Programme is to utilize the myriad of opportunities provided by it, to streamline my advocacy efforts for youth development. I also believe that the YouthLead Programme offers an invaluable opportunity to network with fellow youth leaders and learn from their advocacy journeys. Thirdly. YouthLead provides me an apt platform to draw the attention of the international youth developmental system to the ideology of (YEI) as a sustainable avenue for youth development, as it emphasises the importance of top-level youth development and inter-stakeholder partnership creation for inclusive youth empowerment.
My current advocacy work is focused on mainstreaming Youth Empowerment Incubation (YEI) for sustainable youth development. Streamlining the existing national, regional and international youth development systems through YEI, is the mark I wish to leave in the world; it is the impact I wish to make. I have begun this journey by establishing and leading Sri Lanka’s first Youth Empowerment Incubator, namely, Hype Sri Lanka, which bears the vision of serving as a catalyst for inclusive and sustainable youth development. I wish to globalize the YEI ideology within the next ten years by creating the Hype Global Youth Empowerment Incubation movement.
