I recently had a conversation with my father about who has rights in the United States. He told me that "change takes time." Then I asked him, "Why do I have to wait for the right that you were born with?" Coming from the Midwest, young people are rigorously excluded from decision making and power in the name of tradition. Through my experiences at Dartmouth College and my work with the Accountability Lab, I have found inspiration from the incredible young people I have had the honor of meeting. Thanks to these experiences and people, I am a changemaker who advocates for social change and youth leadership. I advocate for the right of all people to be at every decision-making table, and I use my voice to call out discrimination, hypocrisy, bigotry, racism, and other largely ignored and/or uncomfortable topics so that we are forced to confront them. I have done this as a facilitator for the youth program at the 2019 Open Government Partnership Global Summit in Ottawa, as a member of the Youth Leadership Council of the Global Fund for Children, as well as through my work with the Accountability Lab in Washington, DC.
