Youth Engagement Measurement and Indicators

Youth Engagement Indicators

Youth level Program/Organizational Level Enabling Environment level

Enabling Environment

Enabling environment indicators “focus on viewing youth engagement from the parental, community, and government perspective; this includes such things as support and commitment of youth engagement, policies in place, and related outcomes” (YouthPower Learning Youth Engagement Community of Practice, 2018). These indicators come from the actors that surround youth, from their parents, their peers, their community, up through national/policy structures.

• Laws and Policies – Youth have a stronger voice in, and are better served by, local and national institutions, with more robust and youth-friendly laws and policies. Youth are aware of these laws and policies and believe that their implementation is effective, reliable, fair, and consistent.
